OLD TOWN: From us it is only a stone’s throw to picturesque Korčula. A nice passenger ferry will take you directly to the imposing gates of the old town. Immerse yourself in the flair of past centuries and enjoy a day in the small pearl of the Adriatic.
The island of the same name with its numerous bays, wine-growing areas, forests and harbors is best explored by car (by car ferry Orebić-Dominče).
By the way: Our sailboat is also moored in Korčula – maybe you feel like a trip ?
VELA SPILA CAVE: Use this destination for an excursion across the island. Take the car ferry Orebic – Korčula Domince. Drive to the other end of the island of Korcula to Vela Luka. On the way, you will pass the famous wine-growing area of Cara. The white wine grape Pošip is cultivated here. Later, you will pass through the village of Blato, where the clocks still tick in the Yugoslavian way. Feel free to make detours to the places signposted on the right or left. The prehistoric cave Vela Spila is beautifully situated in the vineyards above Vela Lukas. It was inhabited by people as early as 20,000 BC and offers a magnificent view of the sea. There are many beautiful bays on Korcula. You could end the day at Vela Przina beach in Lumbarda, for example. But watch out for the ferry departure times! From there it is not far to the ferry port Korčula Domince back to Orebic.
